PCHacks 2019!

PCHacks 2019 is just around the corner and we want you to participate! This event is a 24-hour hackathon hosted at the University of Toronto at Mississauga between May 4 and 5. It is a Major League Hacking hackathon approved member event and is going to have lots of prizes, workshops, and the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals.

Eligibility

Any high school or university student can apply for our hackathon. Participants can form teams of up to 4 people to create their project.

Requirements

Competitors can create whatever project they want to make, but specific AWARDS will be offered for projects in the following categories.
1) Overall Best Project (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

3) Machine Learning and Big Data 
4) Smart City

6) Robotics
7) Best Use of API

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity
    Is your project an original use of a tool/API, something completely new, or just a remake of another piece of technology?
  • Impact and Sustainability
    Is your product practical? Do you have have a potential business plan?
  • Technical Innovation
    Shows understanding of a problem, makes smart use of available technology.
  • Execution
    Does your project work as intended? Products do not need to be fully complete but you should have a functional demo.
  • Polish/Design Quality
    Quality User Interface and User Experience, well designed demo, ease of use.
  • Technical Difficulty
    Is your project overly complex? Can you use a simpler solution.
  • "Wow" Factor
    How impressive is your project? Do the judges think it would be useful?
  • Category Awards
    The best projects in certain categories will get additional prizes.
  • Best Project Overall
    Goes to the project that gets the highest score from our judges.
